The Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) is a voluntary scheme managed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) as part of its remit to “raise performance standards and to assist The Private Security Industry in developing new opportunities”.

The Private Security Industry Act 2001 requires the SIA to establish a “system of inspection for providers of security services, under which those organisations who satisfactorily meet the agreed standards may be registered as approved, and may advertise themselves as such”.

Force Shield Security has held SIA ACS Status for Door Supervision and Security Guarding since the schemes inception.

ISO 9001:2015

ISO 90001 standards are designed to help organisations ensure they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders whilst meeting statutory and regulatory requirements. ISO 9001 deals with the fundamentals of quality management systems with the requirements that organisations wishing to meet the standard must fulfil.

Force Shield Security is accredited to the latest version of the standards – ISO 9001:2015 for the provision of Security Guarding, Door Supervision and Key Holding and Alarm Response in accordance with BS 7499, BS 7960, BS 7984 and BS 7858.

SSIP Safecontractor

Force Shield Security holds Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) Safecontractor Status.

Safecontractor has been developed and refined by Government Health and Safety and Procurement Professionals, with the support of the Health and Safety Executive, since 1999.The scheme provides information and assurances about the health and safety systems and competence of the organisations who have been Safecontractor accredited or assessed.

Applicants’ health and safety policy statement, their organisation and how it deals with health and safety and their specific health and safety arrangements are assessed. Everyone will, therefore, work to an acceptable standard. The Safecontractor scheme has a database on which all of its members are stored.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) upholds information rights in the public interest, promoting openness by public bodies and data privacy for individuals.

It is the independent regulatory office (national data protection authority) dealing with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 across the UK, and the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004
